Too Flashy for You?
Last night Amanda, Donnie, Eric and I went out to dinner at Bella Union, one of my favorite restaurants. We were having a good time talking, eating, in their outdoor patio. I realized I had my camera with me, and as Eric and I are moving soon I thought I should document our fun evening with our friends. First, I try taking some pictures without the flash on, as to not draw a lot of attention our way. But, I don't have a steady enough hand, so I thought, no big deal we will just take a couple pictures with the flash on. And look at that cute picture of Donnie and Amanda, so worth it. What you won't see is a picture of Eric and I, because as our picture was being taken, my dear husband was mouthing off to the camera about how rude it is to take pictures in a restaurant, so our picture did not turn out as lovely as our comrades. I wanted to take one more picture, this time a good one, my husband was saying it was rude to take the flash filled pictures.
Eric and I had a good rousing argument about this through the car ride home, which Donnie and Amanda enjoyed immensely. Eric said it wasn't just that we were taking pictures, but that my camera took about eight flashes before actually taking the picture. Something I realized to be true, as I pulled out my camera in the car to prove him wrong. As you can see it was a little bright. Yet, I still say who cares if someone takes a couple of pictures in a restaurant, I sure don't.

Donathan
I was telling someone recently I can't wait until I can start working in a salon. I'm used to doing hair most every day, and I haven't done any for about three weeks. Then, I realized I have been doing hair, quite a bit, since I got back from NY. About four haircuts and two colors just last week. I have about four haircuts and a possible color lined up for this week, guess I just can't stay away. These pictures are of just one of those cuts last week. Let's just say there's a new model in town, and I call him Donathan. I think the pictures say it all... Amanda, you are one lucky lady.

ROSCO
I can't believe I haven't talked about her before! My dog Rosco Strahl is the cutest, smartest, best dog God ever made! You may think I'm exaggerating, but if you have ever met her you'd know I speak the truth. The Jeter Family knows what I'm talking about. Amanda and the Jeter Family helped to keep the little pup safe when she may have escaped the fenced yard. OK, so she's not perfect, but as close as it gets. Oh, and can you say one-of-a-kind? She is half German Shepard (the brains) and half Daschund (the puppy-dog eyes of guilt). I dare you to find a better dog. Hey, Hey now, really don't waste your time, it won't happen. Just look at the pictures, and fall in love.
Hooters
So Eric and I had our first Hooters experience. Now, here are my only preconceived notions about this restuarant. Well there's the fact that they are called Hooters, ie boobs, what I assume would be big ones. Then theres Adam Sandler, or to be more specific the movie Big Daddy where one of his favorite resturants was Hooters. In the movie the women indeed have large chests and short shorts. The resturant, in the flesh, was a little underwhelming. In one respect, it was like going to Applebees only the women were sporting terribly outdated, kind of slutty, and pretty unflatering uniforms. Plus, it is called Hooters, right? Not so impressed with the hooters, I guess they can't legally only hire big busty women, but you'd think, you know? And yet it did have a weird strip club sort of feel. I can't be entirely sure as I have never actually been to a strip club. Just that there were all sorts of fellas from an "office" you might say, ogaling all of the ladies in their orange hot pants. And our waitress was friendly. Uh, so much so that it was a little uncomfortable, dare I say awkward. She greeted our table, while giving a nice little spread eagle of sorts to the table of guys behind her. And I'm still not sure who she was flirting with more Eric, Lucas, Malinda or me. It was interesting and pretty boring at the same time. Food, much like Applebees was mediocre. I think we may choose more sophisticated and intellectually stimulating entertainment in the future... next stop pussycat dolls!

What's more exciting?
So I have been visiting New York where I, my husband Eric, and dog and cat will be living very soon. It is a lot to take in. At first, I was a little unsure if I could really see myself living here, navigating the city, taking the subway. But, surprisingly (even to myself) after a couple of days here I feel sooo much better. I am actually getting how the streets work and even the subway. OK this is actually a very big deal for me because I have no sense of direction. So, things are looking up. And when we were first looking for an apartment I was a little freaked out, just because I could not only picture myself in the shady areas with the tiny apartments, but was I was picturing was me getting stabbed. But, today we started out in a much better place and I think we may have found our apartment. I think I will like New York quite a bit and I haven't even got to the best part. Let me tell you about my first celebrity sighting. Was walking down town to get my first glance of Times Square, and I look over to my left to see Judy Greer. Now if you don't know who I'm talking about, she usually plays "the best friend roles" and has star'd in such movies as 13 Going on 30, the Wedding Planner, and Jawbreaker. Pretty cool I thought, a celeb sighting on my first trip here. And yet I had no idea what was in store for me. So, we were all walking down some random street in Greenwhich Village, and we saw some flyers up for a movie that would be taping in that area. We began to walk down a street with lots of trailers lining them, not thinking much about it. So we are walking right next to one of the trailers, when the door opens. All I think is, 'Oh, someone is coming out I should move out of the way', and as I glance up I see the man who steps out of the trailer within touching distance of me is....... Hugh Grant. Hugh Grant!! I am freaking out in my mind, yet I keep my cool and just keep walking (as all of us did). I glanced back once, just to make sure, just before he disappeared into another trailer. OK, let me just let everyone know-----he is just as, if not more, gorgeous in person. Ah, what's more exciting, New York or Hugh Grant?

GRADUATION!!!
I am happy to say that yesterday I graduated from OIC. It's been a long road, and I ready to move on to my new career in hair design. I would like to say thank you to all of my people around me who have been such a big support over the last year. Especially that of my husband Mr. Eric Strahl. I will miss all of the great gals I went to school with and all of the great people that are still there. Not much else to say but WOOHOO!

Garage Sale
Yes, I finally found someone (thank you, Megan) who would let Eric and I have a garage sale at their house. It was quite successful, in that the weather cleared up and we made a nice wad of cash and got rid of a lot of crap. The amazing thing is we still have enough to fill a whole other garage sale. I am still not sure how we accumulate soooooo much stuff. And it can be a little depressing when you find yourself hagling with someone over a Dr. Phil book on tape (I realize something I should probably never fess up to owning--oh well) and your still pissed a day later that she got it for a measley dollar. On an up note someone bought our monstrosity of a cat house/perch thingy --- I just didn't want to have to haul that piece of crap away and someone actually gave me $15 for it. Ha Ha, suckers.
